'All Together in the Paddock' was an opportunity for family and friends to gather in the beautiful surrounds of Mount Gnomon Farm, to recharge and refresh, creating an opportunity for a community event. TWiA teamed up with Mount Gnomon and Rural Alive & Well (RAW) to make it happen in July 2020. We were excited to bring the community together to reconnect following the last few months of challenges. Together welcoming the 'new normal', all while enjoying great entertainment.
The kids were entertained by gumboot throwing, sack races, face painting and egg catching. While the adults also got in on the fun, enjoying the beautiful scenery, farm tour and Tasmanian singer/song writer Dani Quilliam. Not to mention the delicious food. A great day out was had by all, with something for everyone.
Mount Gnomon is run by Guy who is the proud owner and custodian of a beautiful farm just outside of Penguin. Guy is a fifth generation Tasmanian farmer who is not only proud to be Tasmanian but fortunate enough to own and share his beautiful farm happy free range pigs, cows, sheep, chickens and a host of international and local visitors and guests. Those who attended were able to sneak a peek at the Barn before its official opening. This substantial entertaining space provided an amazing backdrop to the day.
Rural Alive & Well Inc. (RAW) is a not-for-profit organisation helping individuals, families and communities through mental health issues with a focus on suicide prevention. RAW reach out to rural Tasmanians, and work with communities to undertake well-being initiatives. The last few months have meant that for some our normal support networks haven't been in place. This event is all about building those networks and reconnecting.
