Scottsdale Art Installation Celebrations – Weekend package

Fiona Stocker, a local writer and member of TWiA, wrote the book “A place in the stockyard” about our organisation. The book committee decided that some of the proceeds from the sale of the book would fund an art installation to celebrate the history of TWiA.

In 2021 we asked for expressions of interest from artists for a piece of art to tell the story of TWiA and earlier this year Karin and Michael Gethin from Gravelly Beach Metalworks were awarded the contract. Their four Corten steel panels beautifully depict what TWiA aims to do for rural women in Tasmania; connect, support, celebrate.

This package includes:

The Panel Unveiling on Friday with Welcome to country at Athol R McLennan Reserve, King Street Scottsdale followed by grazing platters and drinks served at the Mechanic Hall, King Street, Scottsdale.

A choice of one of these bus tours on Saturday  -

  Bridport : Visit Clovelly Dairy, Cleone’s Secret Garden and Rhubarb and Lemon Tree Farm. Lunch at Bridport is included.

  Gladstone : Visit Telita Dairy, Blue Lake and Musselroe Wind Farm and Tebrakunna Vistior Centre. Lunch at Gladstone is included.

  Scottsdale : Visit Scottsdale farming area, Scottsdale Military Museum and Darby-Norris Distillery. Lunch at the Cafe Gallery is included.

A Gala Dinner on Saturday evening with a three-course country style menu. MC: Hon. Jo Palmer MLC Minister for Primary Industries and Water and Minister for Women. Guest speaker: Felicity Richards, Chairperson of Farmsafe Australia.
